As you can see, gourds definitely have individual personalities.  This "Hot Air Ballon" is sailing through our imagination as it brings a smile to all that see it.  The "basket" was formed by cutting a section of the gourds narrowest diameter.  It is suspended by micro-wires.  Pyrography and glass beads were used to create the design.  Colors were derived through the use of leather dyes, and pen and ink.  This piece was finished with gloss poly-urethane.  Hot air is optional.
